Billing Practices

We make every effort to contact you prior to surgery regarding your financial responsibility. However, if we fail to reach you within 48 – hours of your surgery please call us at: 360-486-6300. Patients with verified insurance may be required to pay the out-of-pocket portion on the day of surgery.

Your bill for surgery at South Sound Surgery Center will include facility charges for the use of the pre-operative room, operating room, recovery room, nursing staff, and any supplies and equipment used for the surgical procedure. You will receive a separate bill for your surgeon’s services, as well as a separate bill for any anesthesiologist or pathologist services.

  • South Sound Surgery Center is a CMS approved facility and accepts Medicare and many other types of health plans. Our office staff will be happy to discuss all fees with you, answer any questions you may have. For your convenience, all health insurance plans are billed directly by South Sound Surgery Center.
  • You may be required to pre-pay all or a portion of the facility fee if your insurance company does not cover the surgery or if you have a large co-pay or deductible. We accept MasterCard┬«, Visa, and Discover┬« as well as payment in cash or check. Patients not fully covered by their insurance plans should call our office to make financial arrangements before the day of surgery. All accounts are due upon receipt of the first patient statement.
  • Our facility also accepts Care Credit which is a medical credit card used exclusively for healthcare needs. Care Credit can be used to finance surgical procedures your insurance will not cover or just ease the burden of managing a high deductible insurance plan. Please contact our facility or see our Care Credit link below to learn more about this medical credit option.
  • Please bring your insurance card(s) with you to ensure proper billing. We recommend you contact your insurance company to verify benefits and/or to fulfill any pre-certification requirements your plan may require. This will avoid placing full patient responsibility for fees related to services not preauthorized with your insurance carrier.
